This was part of a larger project for Jarvus, in which they were developing a full e-commerce solution for their client. The system was built from the ground up using their proprietary php backend, and I was tasked to build the administrative backend interface which would be used to manage various business processes for the client, including reporting, inventory, coupons, order processing, and shipping.
Before writing a line of code – I carefully worked with the team to define the user story, and translated it into a sensible user experience that simplifies the client’s complex business processes.
The goal was to make it as easy as possible for the user to deal with large sets of data. I was able to alleviate some of the complexities that go along with dealing with big data using features like deep linking, load buffering, and advanced search commands.
Another interesting constraint for this project was to build the dashboard in such a way that it could be reused in future e-commerce projects at Jarvus. Using ExtJS, I built the app as a package that could be included as a dependency in any forthcoming Jarvus app, with minimal configuration.
